Dr. Doreen Adoma Agyei is a lawyer and lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, where she co-teaches courses in Intellectual Property Law, Immovable Property, and Law, Science and Technology. She combines academic rigour with practice as a solicitor at Moomin & Botta Solicitors, specialising in intellectual property, commercial transactions, and litigation. Dr. Agyei holds an LLB from KNUST and a Qualifying Certificate from the Ghana School of Law. She earned an LLM in Maritime and Intellectual Property Law from the University of Hertfordshire as a Chancellor’s Scholar, followed by an LLM in Intellectual Property and a PhD in IP Enforcement from the University of Michigan under the prestigious Grotius Scholarship. She is also an alumna of the University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars Programme. Her professional training includes advanced certificates in IP law and IP enforcement from Cambridge University and the Practising Law Institute (New York), alongside specialised training in Oil and Gas Contracts and Negotiation. Her research interests span intellectual property development, protection and enforcement, international trade law, and oil and gas negotiations. Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Agyei has served and chaired several academic and professional committees within KNUST and beyond. She currently serves as Vice President of IP Network Ghana, a non-profit think tank dedicated to shaping IP discourse, education, and policy in Ghana and beyond. She is also the Founder of Ghana IP Pulse, an educational platform that promotes both foundational and specialised understanding of intellectual property across industries, with a strong focus on mentoring students and engaging diverse stakeholders to advance IP-driven growth within the Ghanaian economy.
