The High Court presided by H/L Justice Samuel Faraday Johnson, J. has granted a petition filed by the Registrar of Companies for the winding up of Zeepay Ghana Limited.

The Court has appointed the Registrar of Companies as the liquidator to liquidate assets of the Company to settle the liabilities of the Company in accordance with the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act, 2020 (Act 1015) as amended.

The winding up of the fintech company follows the decision of the High Court granting summary judgment against the company and its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Andrew Takyi-Appiah for the payment of over USD 11.6 million to one Michael Yusuf, a customer of the company. The orders of the Court, pursuant to the petition filed by the Registrar of Companies, also follows the decision of the Bank of Ghana to revoke the operating license of Zeepay.
