The Circuit Court at Adenta, presided by the learned Circuit Court Judge, Her Honour Angela Attachie has dismissed a submission of no case filed on behalf of Mr. William Gyimah, a Kasoa based Pastor in the case of Republic v William Gyimah (SUIT NO: D18/0067/2026).

Mr. Gyimah is being tried for the offence of False communication under section 76 of the Electronic Communication Act 775/2008 and for Publication of false news with intent to cause fear and alarm under section 209 of the Criminal Offenses Act 29.

In the decision of the Court delivered on the 22nd day of October, 2026, the Court held the view, after an exposition on the law on burden of proof and submission of no case, that, prosecution had successfully proven the falsity of the statements of the accused that the Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang was going to be killed by her inner circle, just like the previous President and Vice President from the Central Region were killed. In the words of H/H Attachie, "The court is thus satisfied that, on the issue of the falsity of the statement, the prosecution has discharged its burden."

The decision of the Court quoted in full, the statements of the accused for which reason he is being tried. Some of the words of the accused which was transcribed and tendered in Court and quoted in the decision include the following:

take the daughter of Rawlings and that she should be the vice president. In the future when they want to use her as a sacrifice the spirit in the Volta region will not allow. There is a man called Kwasi Botchway the former finance minister. Along the line they wanted to make him a running mate.

A pastor told him not to go for the position of a running mate and he should wait for the day his maker will call him. He did not involve himself in the race of a vice president. Look at the former vice president Atta Mills. Do you want to tell me that in 2012 Atta Mills was the one who was more ill than everybody. Someone was more ill than Atta Mills but the person is still alive. Someone is more ill than Atta Mills who lived for about 2 to 3 years before passing away so how come Atta Mills got ill and died within a short time. Look at Amissah-Arthur he woke up by his wife he sat in his car and drove to the gym at 6:00 a.m., 6:30a.m. he collapsed like joke like joke. Before his death there was a prophesy by Owusu Bempah that they will kill him."
