From the above authorities, the position is clear that, adjournments are subject to the convenience of the Court, not to the personal engagements of counsel. More so when counsel was present and consented to the date fixed. This Court cannot, in the exercise of its discretion, grant the request by counsel for the 1st and 3rd Accused Persons. If circumstances were truly beyond counsel’s control, it was incumbent on him to make alternative arrangements.
