The Judicial Secretary, Her Ladyship Cyra Pamela C. A Koranteng in a letter dated the 21st day of March, 2024 has instructed all registrars to desist from publishing inactive cases in news papers. This letter of the secretary is addressed to all directors of the Judicial Service, Court Registrars and all Regional Administrators of the Service.
Per the letter of the Judicial Secretary, inactive cases should now be published on the Judicial Service website which is accessible at www.judicial.gov.gh
All registrars who therefore wish to strike out an inactive case should therefore not resort to a newspaper publication of the case. The public including parties and lawyers may resort to the 'Registrars Summons' tab on the 'e-services' tab of the website to ascertain if their cases is to be struck out for want of prosecution.
This directive by the Judicial Secretary follows an earlier directive by the Chief Justice to the Registrar of the Supreme Court to strike out all dormant cases.
This directive from the judicial secretary is one of four new developments on the website of the Judicial Service. The other measures taken by the service through its website are captured in the letter of the secretary below.
