The respected Victoria Barth of Okudzeto and Associates has formally filed her nominations papers for the position of Vice President of the Ghana Bar Association.
The learned law lecturer of the Ghana School of Law and Managing Partner of the respected Okudzeto & Associates seeks to be the second female Vice-President in the history of the Association.
Her filing and potential electoral victory will follow the line of National Bar Association officials produced by her firm. The founder of the firm, the inimitable Sam Okudzeto and the diligent Nene Amagatcher, retired Justice of the Supreme Court and now advocacy lecturer of the Ghana School of Law have all had the privilege to serve the association as its President.
The dependable Mrs. Barth started her career in 2002 as an Assistant State Attorney in the Civil Division of the Attorney-General’s Department and transitioned to private practice in 2003 as a junior associate with Sam Okudzeto & Associates.
Her practice focuses on dispute resolution through civil litigation and arbitration, providing specialist services on general corporate, labour, commercial and land litigation. She teaches Advocacy and Legal Ethics at the Ghana School of Law and is a member of the ICC Task Force “Addressing Issues of Corruption in International Arbitration.”
Election timeline
Polls for the election of qualified candidates will be in September when lawyers congregate at Kumasi for the yearly Bar Conference.
