What The Law Says
Workplace Discrimination under Ghanaian Labour Law: Legal Framework, Challenges, and Enforcement
Victimisation occurs when an individual is subjected to harmful or unfair treatment because they have, in good faith, made or supported a complaint of discrimination, given evidence in a discrimination case, raised a grievance related to equality, or participated in any legal or formal process concerning anti-discrimination rights. It also includes situations where a person is suspected of having engaged in such activities or is likely to do so in the future. Victimisation is therefore closely linked to the protection of individuals who seek to enforce their rights under equality and anti-discrimination laws, as it ensures that people are not punished for asserting or supporting lawful complaints.
