The office of the Attorney-General and Justice Ministry by its affidavit in opposition and a supplementary have vehemently opposed the application brought by Ekow Vincent Assafuah Esq. (Hon.) against the removal process of the Chief Justice for failure of the President to offer the learned Chief Justice copies of the petitions against her before consultation with the Council of State for a prima facie determination.
The affidavits of the A-G deposed by the learned Reginald Odoi rely on the text of the constitution and the processes applied by the former President, Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo upon the filing of a petition for the removal of the Chief Justice by Prof. Kwaku Asare in 2024.
The deponent for the evidence brought by the A-G also suggests per his affidavit which can be read in full below that claims of the Plaintiff and applicant in the injunction application are overrun by events subsequent to the filing of the application, that is, the offer of copies of the petitions for the removal of the learned Chief Justice to her for her response which have been submitted to the Presidency.
