Lawyers for Mr. Adu Gyamfi in the contempt appeal against the North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP) have moved to discredit news reportage of a dismissal of the appeal against the ruling seeking to commit the MP to contempt.
In a statement dated 26th day of June, 2024 under the hand of lead Counsel for Mr. Adu Gyamfi, the learned Bobby Banson, lawyers for Mr. Adu Gyamfi meticulously provide the trajectory of proceedings of the case leading to the ruling in Court yesterday, the 26th day of June, 2024.

The statement discredits the reportage on various media outlets including www.myjoyonline.com which the statement specifically mentions and quotes portions of its reportage suggesting the appeal of Mr. Gyamfi has been thrown out.
In a more pointed fashion the statement rubbishes as fake a claim by the news portal that an application has been brought by Mr. Gyamfi seeking to restrain Hon. Ablakwa from any discussion of Mr. Gyamfi concerning the National Cathedral Project.

"Contrary to the publications and social media reports, there was no application filed at the Court of Appeal or any other court for that matter filed by the Appellant to restrain the Respondent from “discussing him (Appellant) concerning the National Cathedral project.” Further, the appeal against the ruling dismissing the application for committal for contempt has not been struck out or dismissed. The substantive appeal is yet to be heard by the court of appeal.", the statement reads.
