Civil cases brought by or against the Attorney-General under article 88 of the 1992 Constitution which are listed for hearing across Courts in Ghana are to be adjourned for this week.
Adjournments in civil cases against the State and those brought by it have been necessitated following a training session for some 50 State Attorneys in effective representation of the interests of the Republic at the ECOWAS Court.
Lawyers and litigants unaware of the development have had to suffer the inconvenience of unannounced adjournments and for some litigants, a further delay to their case. State lawyers participating in the training session are billed to attend fully to courtroom work next from Monday, the 13th day of April, 2025 where some of the cases which have suffered adjournments this week have been listed for hearing.
The training session is expected to last for the week for some 50 State Attorneys of the Civil Division of the Attorney-General's Chambers.
