The Chief Justice has refused a recusal plea to her doorstep by the Special Prosecutor against Justice Edward Twum who presides as the High Court judge in the Cecilia Abena Dapaah matter.

The Special Prosecutor who is displeased with some of of the rulings of Justice Twum filed his recusal petition surprisingly to lawyers of Mad. Dapaah on the 18th of October 2023.

In a letter dated the Wednesday, 25th day of October, 2023, the Judicial Secretary has relayed the decision of the Chief Justice to the petitioner Special Prosecutor. Same letter has been duly acknowledge by the communication channel of the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The message from the Special Prosecutor failed to disclose the grounds for the refusal of recusal just as the communication of the lodging of its petition failed to disclose the evidence for claims of bias against him.

The effect of this letter is that Justice Edward Twum who stayed his hands subject to the green light from the Chief Justice will confidently hear the confirmation application of the Special Prosecutor which was initially billed for hearing on the same 18th of October when the petition for recusal was lodged.
