The immediate Maternal Family of the famous Ghanaian musician, Charles Kojo Fosu alias Daddy Lumba are at war with the Head of the wider Family of Daddy Lumba over management of funeral donations lodged with Cal Bank and the planning, organization and conduct of the funeral of the deceased musician.
In a writ filed in the General Jurisdiction Registry of the High Court sitting in Accra, the Plaintiffs-Maternal Family members of the deceased contend that they are the rightful persons to organise and conduct the funeral of the deceased. They thus pray for reliefs to that effect that they have the right to have control over donations lodged in an account at Cal Bank which received funeral donations upon the death and one week celebration of Daddy Lumba's passing.
Injunction Hearing on a day before funeral
As part of the writ, the Applicants-Maternal family of the deceased filed in the Registry of the Accra High Court an application for injunction against Abusua-Panyin Kofi Owusu, Cal Bank and Transitions Funeral Home for the halt to the preparations, organization and conduct of the funeral and burial of the music icon.
The injunction application filed by Thomas Tsenkoran Eshun of of Spirit Law Consult is billed for hearing on the 11th day of December, 2025 with the funeral event of the icon slated for the 13th day of December, 2025.
The current writ and injunction filed on the 3rd day of December, 2025 against the funeral of Daddy Lumba follows the decision of the Kumasi High Court dismissing the claim of the 1st Wife of Daddy Lumba, Akosua Serwaa that she is the only wife of Daddy Lumba.
