The Acting Chief Justice and Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Mawulorm Jones Dotse retires today. Justice Dotse bows out from his illustrious legal and judicial career virtually four and a half decades after joining the bar.

Justice Dotse served the bar association rising to the President of the Volta Region Bar. His legal career nurtured many bright lawyers including the learned Justice Ernest Yao Gaewu of the Supreme Court Bench.

Justice Jones Dotse's judicial career began in 2002 where he was appointed to the High Court Bench. A year after, he was elevated to the Court of Appeal and 2008 he was appointed to the apex court.

Many are his judicial pronouncements. The Chief Justice nominee, Justice Torkornoo, Supreme Court Justices, the Attorney General and other prominent persons eulogized Justice Dotse for his legal acumen and deep knowledge of the working of the law during a valedictory ceremony organized in his honour yesterday, 7th of June 2023 at the Supreme Court.

Justice Dotse during the same event thanked his family, all Chief Justices and his colleagues at the bench for his enviable record at the bench. Justice Jones Dotse could not help but be overpowered by emotions leading to some tears as he read his appreciation speech.
