The Kaneshie District Court located at the heart of Adabraka effective immediately is now the Adabraka District Court.

The decision for the renaming of the court, as located close to the University of Ghana City Campus close to the AirtelTigo headquarters was approved by the Judicial Council on the 26th day of June, 2024 during its 285th meeting.

By a memo dated the 18th day of July, 2024 under the hand of the learned Judicial Secretary and addressed to the Directors and Regional Administrative Officers of the Judicial Service, the change of name is effective from the 26th day of June, 2024 though the directive for effecting the change of name is dated Thursday the 18th day of July, 2024.

Despite the reason for the renaming being unknown to The Law Platform neither does the memo directing the name change not containing the reasons, the change of the name from Kaneshie to Adabraka, it may be noted, sits properly with the geographical location of the Court which is Adabraka and not Kaneshie.
