Justice Francis Achibonga on the 17th day of August, 2026 adjourned proceedings in the case of Republic v Adu-Boahene (Case No. CR/0418/2026) to the 25th day of August, 2026 for continuation of proceedings. The Court adjourned solely on the basis of the pendency of an injunction application filed by Messrs Davies and Davis on behalf of Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at the Supreme Court pending the final determination of Mr. Oppong's writ at the Supreme Court.
The Court rejected the arguments of the Deputy Attorney-General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai that the injunction ought not operate to halt the proceedings in the Court. The position canvassed by the learned Peter Osei-Asamoah on the effect of the injunction of Mr. Oppong found favour with the Court.
Below is the arguments of Counsel and the full order of the Court dated the 17th day of August, 2026.
