The mischief is real. In writing this paper, the author’s attention was drawn to an incident where a Head of Family sold land for residential purpose. The indenture bore beautiful dimensions: “100 x 70 feet”. The site plan was neatly drawn. The purchaser paid for it. However, upon a superimposition by a licensed surveyor at the Lands Commission, the land was completely on the sea. Not near the sea, but on the sea. The purchaser had bought the Atlantic Ocean for a bedroom.
