The Association of Magistrates and Judges shall today elect members of the Executive Committee of the Association to steer the affairs of the body comprising of Judges and Magistrates numbering over 300.

Election rescheduled to today

The election of members of the Executive Committee of the Association shall take place during the annual conference of the Association which sees the assembly of over 100 Magistrates and Judges each year. The conference of the Association which usually occurs before the start of the legal shall take place from today, 1st October- 2nd October, 2025

The election of the top brass leadership of the Association was scheduled for tomorrow, the 2nd day of October, 2025 but shall come off today rather, likely because of the swearing in of some of the members of the Association to the Court of Appeal Bench.

Osei Tutu for Vice Presidency, Kwofie tenure over

The respected Justice of the Court of Appeal, sitting at the Sekondi Court of Appeal Bench, His Lordship Justice Osei Tutu shall contest for the position of Vice President of the Association. His Lordship comes against his brother Justice Samuel Faraday Johnson.

At the level of the Presidency of the Association, Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu squares up with Justice Charles Edward Ekow Baiden.

The Circuit Court Judge sitting at the Circuit Court in Mampong, the calm and collected Jonathan Odartey (H/H) is the sole contender for the Secretary position of the Association. The election and swearing in of executives from this years annual conference shall mark the official end of the tenure of the Justice Anthony Kwofie regime of Presidency of the Association.
