Wilberforce Asare, a prominent Journalist through his lawyer, Eric Dawda has filed a mandamus application at the Registry of the General Jurisdiction of the High Court seeking orders of the High Court directed at the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate Chief Executive Officers of COCOBOD, Minerals Commission and some Board Chairs of State Corporations.
In his Mandamus Application seeking to invoke the supervisory powers of the Court against CHRAJ, the Applicant deposes and attaches an RTI response from the Auditor-General’s Department showing that twelve Board Chairs and two Chief Executive Officers of State Corporations failed to declare their assets before assumption of office.
CHRAJ neglects duty
In his application filed on the 9th day of February, 2026, numbered GJ/0402/2026, the Applicant informs the Court that on the 20th November, 2025 he filed a complaint at CHRAJ for investigations into the failure of some CEOs and Board Chairs to declare their asset before taking office.
According to his 15-paragraphed affidavit supporting the motion paper, after failure of any action from the Ombudsman on the complaint file, the Applicant on the 11th day of December, 2025 officially wrote to it to draw its attention to the complaint and demand action.
Per the Applicant in his filed originating motion before the High Court, CHRAJ is yet to offer any response to his complaint or duly received letter nor undertake investigations into the complaint filed by him with the registry of the Ombudsman.
