The Commercial Division of the High Court has granted an injuction application brought by Twellium Industrial Co. Ltd. against Nutrifoods Ghana Limited to prevent the latter from the production, distribution, marketing and sale of their Royal Breakfast Cereal Biscuit pictured above.

The ruling of the court dated the 25th day of September 2023 with the suit no CM/IPR/0609/2023 was delivered by Justice Adelaide Abui Keddey. The learned judge subjected the injuction to an undertaking by Twellium Industrial Co. Ltd. to bear the cost of the expenditure that may be incurred by Nutrifoods owing to the stoppage in manufacture and sale of their version of the Breakfast Cereal Biscuit. The vexed biscuit was first produced and sold on the Ghanaian market by Twellium Industrial Co. Ltd.

This ruling and dispute between the two giants in the processed foods industry adds to another where Nutrifoods Ghana Limited is this time around suing Twellium for economic torts for the production and sale of Alpha Cracker, a biscuit similar to the popular Royal King Cracker biscuit pictured below.
