The General Legal Council (GLC) under the Chairmanship of the learned Chief Justice of the Republic, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie has accredited the Ghana Law Society (GLS) to facilitate the issuance of all types of Professional Licenses: Practicing, Chamber and Pupillage Licences.

The accreditation of the Association of Lawyers comes on the back of a suit by the same association against the Ghana Bar Association seeking to break the Association's recognition as the sole Lawyers' association by the 1992 constitution of the Repulic of Ghana.

According to the Executive Council of the Ghana Law Society (GLS), the Assocition shall address a media conference on Monday the 26th day of January, 2026 at the International Press Centre to apprise the public of their accreditation.

The case of the Law Society, Mr. Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor and others against the Attorney-General and the Ghana Bar Association is yet to be heard for a judgment emanating from the Court on the claims of the Association through their Lawyer, Dr. Jennifred Adjei of the University of Cape Coast Law Faculty.
