The respected Thaddeus Sory has written to the Registrar of the Supreme Court requesting early dates for the hearing of the injunction applications filed by the plaintiffs in the Sky v Speaker of Parliament and Dr.Amanda Odoi v Speaker of Parliament cases.
Per Mr. Sory, the injunction applications require urgent attention and hearing by the Supreme Court Bench. Per Mr. Sory's letter, the substance and urgency of the injunction applications against the transmission of the Anti-LGBTQ bill and the assent to same by the President bear similarity with that of the Dafeamekpor case which was listed for hearing two days after filing upon a similar request of early hearing by the Attorney-General.
Mr. Sory's letter failed to suggest a timeline for the Registrar to list the injunction applications for hearing. Meanwhile, the earliest sitting of the Supreme Court after the Easter holidays all things being equal is the 17th of April, 2024.
