The Apex Court, presided by Her Ladyship, Justice Henrietta Mensah Bonsu has adjourned to the 6th day of May, 2025 to hear the injunction application filed by Vincent Ekow Assafuah against the President in the removal processes of the Chief Justice.

Justice Asiedu unwell

His Lordship, the respected Justice Asiedu, who has served on the Bench from the High Court to now the Apex Court per sources of The Law Platform, is unwell and currently hospitalized as at the time of this publication.

The lead lawyers for both parties, the Attorney-General and his predecessor, Godfred Yeboah Dame who represents the Applicant were invited to chambers by their Lordships before the stroke of 10: 15am. Sources of The Law Platform indicate their Lordship informed Counsel of the ill-health of his Lordship, Justice Asiedu who was a member of another panel which was billed to deliver a judgment this morning but had to adjourn owing to the ill-health of His Lordship.

Their Lordships per our sources indicated the intention of the Court to sit if His Lordship, Asiedu J.S.C. was better and could sit despite admitted to the hospital. Their Lordships thus gave a time of 11am to indicate an adjournment or otherwise.

Adjournment

To the expectation of many-a-lawyer and The Law Platform, the Supreme Court bench sat without His Lordship, Justice Asiedu JSC to inform the Court of an adjournment to the 6th day of May, 2025 after the Easter period legal vacation per the Supreme Court Rules, C.I 16.
