Spouses on the Payroll: A Critical Analysis of the Supreme Court's Decision in Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor & Ors v. The Attorney-General (Writ No. J1/13/2021, 24th April 2024)
In respect of spouses of Vice Presidents, the Committee recommended at page 78 and in Table 7.3 (B) that they should be entitled to a "payment of salary equivalent to a Cabinet Minister non-MP as currently pertains" while the Vice President is in office, but only be paid the "equivalent to 80% of salary of a Minister of State non-MP if spouse served one full term as VP, or 100% of salary of a Minister of State non-MP if spouse served two or more full terms as VP."
