Isaac Gyeabour Ofori Esq- a private legal practitioner has been appointed as the National Country Representative for Ghana at the ongoing 30th Congress of the World Association for Medical Law (WAML) in Antwerp Belgium by the organization's Board of Governors.
By his appointment, Mr. Gyeabour, a lawyer with deep interest in Medical Law shall undertake duties as the National Country Representative for Ghana which shall duties shall include the following:
Representing Ghana on the Board of Governors and bringing Ghanaian perspectives on health law, legal medicine, bioethics, forensic medicine, and related issues to international discussions. He shall act as an ambassador of WAML in Ghana — promoting the association’s mission, encouraging new members, and supporting national or regional activities related to medical law.
Mr. Gyeabour, an avid medical law practitioner and the Founder of Patient Rights Ghana shall also promote the study, discussion, and development of medical/health law, legal medicine, and bioethics as an appointed representative for Ghana for the Association.
He shall also support WAML’s overall purposes, which are to encourage the study and discussion of problems in medical law (and related fields) for the benefit of society and the advancement of human rights, and to examine the legal, legislative, and ethical consequences of developments in medicine and healthcare.
In his tenure as Country representative, Mr. Gyeabour shall assist with membership recruitment for WAML— he shall thus receive membership applications and shall refer them to the Secretary-General for processing by the Executive Committee.
