The learned Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai has filed an application praying the High Court to refer questions to the Supreme Court seeking a constitutional interpretation of a dichotomy or otherwise of the office of Chief Justice and Justice of the Supreme Court and removal from both offices upon removal from office of Chief Justice.

The questions filed by the A-G for answers from the Apex Court are pursuant to the reliefs sought and pleadings in an application filed by the former Chief Justice against her removal. The questions for reference can be read in full in the application of the Deputy A-G filed today, the 23rd day of September, 2025.
