The learned former Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo has filed a Judicial Reviw application in the High Court seeking the High Court quash all processes leading to her removal from office as Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana.
In her application filed on Thursday the 16th day of October, 2025, Her Ladyship supplies a more than 270-paged application with a 96-paragraphed affidavit in support, exhibiting vital and material evidence supporting her case of illegality of the proceedings of the Justice Pwamang Committtee and the recommendations churned out which the President relied on to cause a removal warrant to be issued to her.
Do not withdraw my salary
As part of her cascading reliefs, Her Ladyship is praying the Court through her lawyers led by the learned Kwabena Adu-Kusi for orders to "prohibit the denial or withdrawal of the salary, benefit, courtesies and other entitlements due to the Applicant before the warrant of removal dated the 1st of September, 2025."
Her ladyship's fresh application follows another filed on the 17th day of September, 2025 seeking a quashing of the warrant of removal of the President signed on the 1st of September, 2025.
The instant application of Her Ladyship as filed yesterday, 16th of October seeks to also cause the High Court to make prohibitive orders to parliament and the President against vetting and swearing in of any substantive Chief Justice in the wake of her removal and the filing of her application.

The learned Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai has filed an application praying the High Court to refer questions to the Supreme Court seeking a constitutional interpretation
