In their Statement of Case filed on the 28th day of October, 2025, the Ghana Bar Association opposes the writ of Dafeamekpor, Ghana Law Society and others against the arrogation of Ghana Bar Association as the sole Associations for Lawyers in the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana.

In their crisp analysis, the Respondent Association with members numbering over 5000 lawyers argue that the writ brought by the Plaintiffs are ineffective to invoke the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court as per their reliance on the seminal case of Republic v. Special Tribunal; Ex-parte Akosah [1980] GLR 592.

The Ghana Bar Association through its Lawyers led by the learned Ace Anan Ankomah argues that the interpretation to be placed on the Ghana Bar Association per the 1992 Constitution is the Ghana Bar Association being the only cognizable association of lawyers under the constitution with the said recognition not being discriminatory.
