Justice Edward Twum of the Financial and Economic Division of the High Court has disclosed that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has withdrawn its petition to the Chief Justice requesting for his recusal.

His Lordship made the disclosure when Counsel for Mad. Cecilia Dapaah requested from the judge the state of the petition before she responds to an application for stay of proceedings filed and moved by the Director of Prosecutions of the OSP.

Proceedings today, 18th of October, 2023 began with an application by the OSP seeking to halt hearing of the all important Confirmation application of the OSP. The Director of Prosecution, Dr. Isidore Tuffour, informed the court of its attempt at the Supreme Court by way of a certiorari application to quash an earlier ruling of Justice Edward Twum.

The Director of Prosecutions also stated that he just got knowledge of the withdrawal of the petition in court just like lawyers of Mad. Cecilia Dapaah and the gallery.
